Positive: Beautiful stay, but very disappointing handling of the deposit The house is comfortable, well located, and has a lovely setting. We spent a great week with our family, but unfortunately,
Negative: Our experience was spoiled by the way the damage deposit was handled after our departure. We were charged 100% of the deposit (USD $226) for an alleged dent on the refrigerator (which we absolutely did not cause) and for stained towels, which showed only normal use (nothing excessive or beyond what’s expected in a vacation rental). In most professional rentals, towels are washed with special products, and only replaced when truly necessary—this felt excessive and unfair. We were not informed or given a chance to reply before the deposit was withheld, which I find highly unprofessional and lacking transparency. I’ve hosted and stayed in many rentals across different platforms, and I’ve never been charged for normal wear and tear like this. It’s a shame that such a beautiful stay ended with this uncomfortable situation. I recommend future guests take detailed photos upon arrival and urge the host to reconsider their damage policy to align better with international hospitality standards.
Summary: Great stay overshadowed by an unfair and poorly handled deposit issue.
