There's a rock formation called Rowtor Rocks, with caves and carvings, prehistoric monuments and stone circles, including The Nine Ladies overlooking the village on Stanton Moor (where you can also find the Cork Stone). At Robin Hood's Stride and Cratcliffe Tor, a medieval hermit's cave can also be explored. Just five miles away, the popular town of Matlock, together with its neighbour, Matlock Bath, has been attracting visitors to the area since the spa was developed in the late 17th century.
