Summary: The view is stunning. The Bailey Island Grocery Store is a 1/2 mile away ....best lobster rolls and sandwiches. The Fishnet Cafe is next door if you want something more dinner-like. I had great five-mile walks every day up to the other side of the bridge and stopped at the Salt Cod Cafe for a bottle of water. Walk the Cedar Beach area on the way back for more beautiful views. Walking on the road is fine as drivers are very cautious of pedestrians. Suggestions...the upstairs is hot unless you open the sky windows ...then there is a nice breeze, and it ventilates the downstairs when the sun is hot in the afternoon. The downstairs will heat up in the sun...but it can be venilated without turning on the window a/c. Older guests will struggle with the upstairs. Some more comfortable chairs on the porch would be helpful as well. The home will sleep 8....but I think four is comfortable for adults...kids upstairs would be fine for more. We used the den-tv room as a bedroom and moved the TV to the main room. Parking is not easy...but you become an expert very quickly. The pad is ~100 feet from the entrance....so you get your exercise. This home was spotless, and the management company was excellent at communicating. We loved it and gave it a five-star rating! One of our best trips ever to Maine. We stayed for two weeks. We would have stayed longer, but the place was booked. Thats how perfect this little place is.
