This is the place to be, where fish swim and ducks paddle fifty feet away from your front door. The ground level has good parking and a sizeable under-house storage area for bikes and boards. The first level opens to extraordinary views of Pamlico Sound from the comfortable living room with a TV and access to the deck. The well-designed kitchen, featuring a center prep island, has a passthrough window to the sound-front dining area.
The sound-front first bedroom has deck access and a tray ceiling. Head upstairs to the starry main bedroom with a private bathroom with an oversized tub and shower and access to a deck for some profound relaxation. Glorious painted walls and some attractive sponge painting will elevate all spirits. Catch the wave to the Blue Crush. Best of all, there's a private hot tub!
THINGS TO KNOW
Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. The club is typically open from mid-May to mid-October, depending on the weather.

Summary: Overall, the house was nice. Plenty of space (especially since my friends cancelled and it was just me and my gf). Soundside location was great, dock was great for fishing when the bait pushed in. Kitchen was stocked with all the needed utensils and pots and pans. Couple downsides though. There were bugs. The cockroach-like palmetto bugs are usually kept outside by occasional spraying. This house needed it. There were 8 or 9, half of them in the kitchen with the cooking and eating hardware. The bathtub also leaked through the ceiling into the living room. We notified vacasa on our first night, Sunday, when we found these issues. They didn't send anyone out until wednesday. There was also only 1 kayak in the house despite the page clearly listing "kayakS", the s usually meaning plural not just one. For almost 2k for a week, a trip me and my gf saved for a nearly a year and a half to be able to make, I definitely feel that my comfort and enjoyment of the house was not only ignored, but was a last priority. Will likely avoid Vacasa in the future, though when the owners make their renovations in a few months, it should be a great place for a small family or friend getaway.
