This villa is a traditional 16th century villa with a private swimming pool that still retains the atmosphere of a an antique Templar residence. The tower of the villa and the right wing have been recently totally restored, maintaining the cotto floors and the beamed ceilings, yet adding all modern comforts. There is also a piano in the sitting room, available for guests. The exteriors of the villa are very well-kept with a beautiful stone courtyard where guests can enjoy al fresco dining wih the meals prepared by the helpful staff, who lives on the premises.
Just 80 meters away the swimming pool has been installed among the beautiful olive groves. Villa di Montelopio is situated in the Montelopio village where clients can walk to a bar as well as a restaurant. Futhermore the renowned village of Castelfalfi with its many restaurants and well-known golf course (18 hole) is only 15 minutes drive from the property. The location of the Villa di Montelopio is also ideal for those looking to explore the beautiful Tuscany region with its famous cities and towns of Volterra, Florence, Pisa, Lucca, San Gimignano and Siena.

Summary: Our family spent a week in Montelopio the first week in July. The pictures can’t do this place justice. We had so much room and everyone felt they had their own private space. All of the rooms were unique and special. Everyone was delighted with the personal touches. Everyone also had their own bathroom. The view over the valley is remarkable. The grounds were beautiful and the pool was a welcome oasis on those hot Tuscan days. The village is teeny tiny (the word village isn’t quite right), but the house has everything we needed. The prepared meals were delicious and we enjoyed drinking wine in the massive dining room or large ballroom-like living area. The air conditioned master bedroom was great. The rest of our family faired fine with the fans in their room, but my husband and I were thankful for the A/C. If you imagine Tuscan villa in your mind, this is the place you’re imagining! It was also very easy to take day trips and we booked the Off the Beaten Path wine tour, which dropped and picked up from the house. It was one of our favorite excursions.
