In 1998 the farm was restored and converted into 4 delightful apartments situated on a hilltop close to Barga in the Garfagnana region, at about 600 above sea level. Here you can hike on lots of mountain trails. Tuscany's historic cities are not far, for ex. Gallicano with all its attractions is 10 km away, Lucca 50 km, while Florence and the coastal resort towns of Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio are only a half hour drive from this place.The main house where the farmer lived has been transformed into the units ref. i5.3355 and i5.3356. The cowshed is the ref. i5.3357, while the hay barn is the ref. i5.3358. The main building is situated 600 meters above sea level, and from there you have a fantastic view of the landscape with chestnut trees and steep wooded hillsides.The access to the property is through a local asphalt road. The property is surrounded by a fence and a gate that is electrically operated, and each apartment is equipped with an internal communication system.Since the property is built on a hillside, each apartment has its own terrace. In addition, there is a stone barbecue, a landscaped garden and a swimming pool of 5 x 10 m.Each apartment has its own entrance and the terraces are equipped with lovely furniture in natural wood, where it is possible to sit and enjoy a meal while admiring the magnificent view.The apartments are very comfortable, and the many wooden furnitures provide a pleasant atmosphere that harmonizes well with the surroundings. The restoration was carried out with respect for the typical Tuscan architecture with wood-beamed ceilings, whitewashed walls and terracotta floors. Where possible, the original stone walls and the interior wooden ceilings were retained and restored for the enjoyment of the guests.All apartments have central heating but heating in winter is not included in the rental price (wood can be bought on site). Two children beds are available, need to be reserved when booking the apartment. There is also a washing machine at guests' disposal.Apartment 1: 70 m2 - 4-5 persons:This apartment is on a lower part of the property, the entrance can be reached from the garden to the right, following a short path leading to a private terrace. At the end of a small courtyard, one step up is the entrance to the apartment. Since the terrace is built upon a protruding part of the hill, it is protected by a wooden fence. The entrance leads to a large room with a living area and a dining area, with a typical Tuscan fireplace and a sofa bed (to be used only by one person). From here it is possible to access a small courtyard shaped like a horseshoe. To the left of the kitchen, a hallway with a door to a single bedroom, and at the very end of the hallway there is a bathroom with a shower niche. To the left of the fireplace there is a landing from which doors lead to a double bedroom, a single bedroom, and a bathroom with shower.
