Summary: The problem with this property is that the owner live there. So when we arrived they waited for us and left. Superficially the place looked clean but floors were very dirty as we saw on out socks and house shoes. The laundry room was a mess and smelly. Nothing looked clean and in order, sponges were dirty and so were the brooms and other cleaning implements. You did not want to look under the sink, messy and dirty, the underside of the sink was black. This place needs a thorough cleaning, not just broom cleaning. We paid for cleaning but I guess the owner's do the cleaning and pocket the money. I had an argument with the owner's daughter over a bottom sheet over the mattress pad. She claimed it was French, but we know better as every place we went, Vouvray, Chartres, Normandy there was a sheet over the same type of pad. The bed in the upstairs bedroom was horrible. I had a backache every morning and it squeeked when you moved. It is obvious that the owner's want to maximize their profits and not spend money on updates, they even mended the kitchen towels with patches. I bought two for 3 euros, also brought my own kitchen sponge.
