Summary: Located at the base of Mt Hood, this cozy space is the perfect place to unwind after a day of skiing, hiking, kayaking or any activity you enjoy on the mountain. The Space: Don’t let the outside scare you, this motel room has been recently updated and is a surprising sanctuary. New management has taken over as of Feb 2020 and many of the previous issues are being addressed. The Mt Air Motel was built in the 1950’s and has seen some hard times in the past, we are actively remodeling every unit but we have chosen to keep the original vintage orange sign. We take our guests comfort and safely seriously. Some changes we’ve made to make our guests feel safe and comfortable are that we no longer rent to those who pull in off the road looking for a quick place to sleep. We have 5 long term renters who look out for the motel and our guests. All other guests are booked thru AirBnB and are held to the same security standards as we held you to, such as they must present government ID, have a verified email and phone number. Several units are under construction as we are doing a huge remodel on the entire Motel. This unit is not connected to any other unit, the room it connects to is our storage room for laundry and stock supplies. The only people coming in and out of there are the cleaners who take care of all of our mountain properties. Construction happens during normal business hours and should not disrupt your stay. Inside the unit you will find an open dining and living room space complete with a 55” TV and a full size pull out bed. The kitchen has a full size stove, slightly smaller than a full size fridge, and is fully stocked with kitchen essentials including basic pantry items. We provide a coffee maker and coffee. The bedroom has a queen bed, new linens and pillows. There are 2 closets with hangers and a small dresser. The bathroom is all new, features a shower/tub combo and is well stocked with fresh linens, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The laundry room on site that is a shared space, please feel free to use it but be mindful about not leaving loads unattended for an extended period of time. The washer and dryer are free to use and we usually have detergent stocked that you can use as well, however it is not a guaranteed amenity. If you get lucky you might be able to witness the deer (and her off spring) that one of our residents saved from a dog attack and hand fed back to health. There is also a 3 legged coyote that comes to visit at times too. We truly hope you enjoy our quirky little Motel and all of the additional amenities we provide our guests. Guest Access: All areas inside the unit are for guests use. The laundry room on site that is a shared space but is free for guests to use. The Neighborhood: Located at the base of Mt Hood provides guests with lots of opportunities for all things outdoors like skiing, snowboarding, tubing, hiking, kayaking, rafting or mountain biking! Plenty of places around us have equipment rentals and even transportation to get you up to Government Camp or Timberline in the winter so you don’t have to battle the snow. Getting Around: You will need to drive to get around easily on the mountain, however in the winter there are shuttles that will take you from our area up to the mountain skiing areas. Check out Mt Hood Express for details on pick up and drop off locations. Other Things to Note: This is a very old Motel that we are trying to save and get back into thriving condition. The exterior needs some love but the interior is all newly remodeled! Interaction with Guests: I am available by text, phone or email. I am located about an hour away but the cleaner is local and will come to assist you if needed.
