Summary: Our family of 16 tremendously enjoyed our stay in this very beautiful, very historic home. We were greeted upon arrival by the owners, who gave us a tour around and filled us in on the history of the house. This house had plenty of room for everyone, with 9 bedrooms and a library that could sleep another 2 in a pinch. We greatly appreciated the huge dining room with many chairs, which could have comfortably fit 20 people. Our kids loved talking to the life-sized bust in the hallways and playing games in the parlour. The adults appreciated the well equipped kitchen and plentiful dishes, glasses and silverware. The owners have many beautiful pictures and cabinets filled with china, but do not seem concerned about breakage, which I feared might occur with all the kids (luckily nothing broke). The mattresses were EXTREMELY comfortable! The showers worked well and the heating system also worked well. There were air conditioners available, but we didn't need them. The owners were super flexible about our departure time and let us linger a few extra hours on the front screened porch. Overall, a wonderful stay. We hope to come back in the future.
