Positive: The things I loved most about this home was it's historical beauty, central location, ease of checking in and out, local maps and transportation guides left in the living room drawers, ample space, the inclincator (old version of an elevator) for when you were tired or had heavy luggage to go up 3 flights of stairs, and lastly parking for 2 vehicles!
Negative: There were a couple of repairs needed that were just dangerous and in my opinion, the place shouldn't be rented until the repairs are complete. In the top floor (4th) there are 3 nails sticking up out of the flooring about half an inch near the inclinator door that could easily rip a barefoot open if someone wasn't watching their feet. One of the staircases had a step with the carpet not stapled down so that if you were rushing, it would slip and cause you to fall and it was the 5th or 6th step so falling could really hurt. There were several missing banisters in the stair cases and the flooring at the base of the stairs near the front street entrance appeared to be falling in or rotting out or something. The floor was sinking for sure. The staircase between 3 and 4 leaned towards the center of the home so much that it made you feel off balance when climbing them. There was only dini g seating for 8 when the home accommodates 12 everywhere else. The table is big enough so I didn't understand why there weren't 4 more chairs. We would have liked to all sit and eat together or play games together but couldn't. There were also not enough forks for 12 people in the kitchen so we had to either wash in between people or use plastic. Lastly the front porch light did not work. The price would have been appropriate if all these issues were corrected. But it's too much otherwise.
Summary: Nice place, amazing location, but needs maintenance.
