4 Bedroom House in Port Clyde
Linda’s Landing
If you are looking for a vacation home that has gorgeous panoramic views of the harbor and surrounding islands, modern furniture and fixtures, the seclusion of a getaway spot and the convenience of a short walk to the center of Port Clyde village, you have found your next vacation
spot. Located at the end of a dead end road, this home provides you with ample privacy. It is also the location of a small working dock so you won't feel secluded. There is a single car garage on site and space for an additional vehicle to park in front of the house.
This beautiful wharf-side home features a quiet breezeway as you enter the home, a perfect spot to read a book, or for the adventure-minded, it's a perfect place to keep your kayaks, skis,
bicycles, hiking gear, etc. As you pass through the hallway, to the left you'll find the first of four bedrooms; a beautiful queen-bed room with a large closet, nightstands and a lovely wooded view. To the
right you will find a full bathroom complete with a double sink, large shower, and toilet. Each bathroom has Maine soaps and plush L.L. Bean towel sets. Moving past the bathroom takes you to the second queen bedroom. This room is beautifully equipped with an iron canopy bed, a large closet, dresser, nightstand and has a view of the harbor. If you sleep with the window cracked, the
sounds of the ocean will lull you into an amazing slumber!
Continuing back to the entry hall you face a large harbor-view window with an 8 person dining room
table in front of it, the perfect place for a family dinner. Moving to the left, you enter a fully
equipped kitchen with ample counter space and all the modern appliances you might hope for:
full-size refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, Keurig, standard coffee maker and let's not forget a
steam pot for Maine lobster! And those are just a few of the kitchen amenities. A side door off the kitchen takes you out to the deck which is equipped with a propane grill, an initial tank of propane and a large exterior dining table and chairs for friends and family!
Heading to the right of the dining area is a breathtaking living room. Large windows make up the majority of the ocean-facing windows in this room. There is no bad seat! For your relaxation, this room has a love seat facing the stunning local rock propane fireplace, and a love seat facing the large flat screen TV. The TV is equipped with basic cable television, has a Blu-ray player, and the house has wireless internet as well. In addition, you will find numerous board and outside games available for your family's enjoyment! Such classics as Monopoly, Scrabble, The Camp Game and
backyard bean toss. Something for everyone!
Off the living room is a staircase going down to the lower level. Reaching the bottom of the stairs you are immediately greeted with another comfortable seating area, complete with writing desk.
There is a TV in this room (for DVD's only) and a love seat facing a wood burning fireplace (firewood not included). There are also two comfortable chairs positioned perfectly for reading, or relaxing out of the sun. If you keep the french door open you will be in full view of your family outside playing lawn games and exploring the rocky shore area. Because of its position in the harbor, the shoreline provides a great opportunity for overturning rocks and finding treasures such as sea-glass, beautiful shells and the occasional crab! If you're more of a spectator, there are
Adirondack chairs on the lawn so you can relax in the sun, or gather around the propane fire pit in
the evenings. There is also a telescope at this location, and we've been told this is a perfect spot for gazing out into the vast universe. The sound of crashing waves adds to the ambiance, no matter which activity suits you best.
Continuing through the sitting room you will come to the third of four bedrooms which has two twin
beds. This room can be converted to a king bed upon request, features ocean-facing windows,
nightstand, closet and a writing desk. The next room is the fourth bedroom which features a
queen bed, nightstands, a large dresser with mirror, ample closet space, and a comfortable chair.
This room is perfect for lighter sleepers as it's nestled in a quiet area of the home. All rooms are
equipped with L.L. Bean bedding and pillows to assure a restful sleep while you are vacationing.
Finishing off the lower level is a laundry room with high-efficiency washer, dryer, and initial laundry
supplies. The next room over is the second full bath. This room features a toilet, sink with vanity, shower/tub combo and ample storage space. This home offers all the comforts of home,
with all the luxury of an ocean getaway. You will find 8 L.L. Bean beach towels in the laundry closet provided for fun at the near-by Drift Inn Beach!
Area Amenities: It's a short 12-minute walk to the village post office, ice cream store, restaurants, galleries and the Port Clyde General Store, which is open daily, specializing in morning coffee and pastries, corn, blueberries, native lobsters, fresh cut meats, and all grocery supplies. This is a pleasantly old and proud Maine community with its own library in Tenants Harbor, a great school, fire department, rescue ambulance and is serviced by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. 1/3 of all Maine lobsters come from this county, named after Henry Knox, George Washington's chief artillery officer in the Revolutionary War of 1776. You can learn about him on the peninsula, as well as enjoy programs offered all season at Montpelier, the Knox mansion and museum. Experience local and wharf dining, Wyeth art tours by land and water, Monhegan Island ferry adventures to see Maine seabirds including puffins and American bald eagles, picnicking at Marshall Point Lighthouse, and good ice cream. These are all landmark features of nearby Port Clyde village.
