The El Establo cottage, part of the Cortijo Los Lobos mountain retreat, offers a private courtyard with dining table, gas bbq and sofas and a roof terrace balcony, perfect for watching the sunset. It has a 2nd toilet and wash basin in the master bedroom and the twin room on the ground floor can be made up as a kingsize if preferred. Situated in beautiful olive groves and pine clad countryside, 5 minutes from the village of Villanueva del Trabuco, 40 minutes from Granada and Malaga airports,close to the major tourist cities and national parks such as El Torcal, El Camino del rey, lakes and beaches.With breathtaking mountain views and a spectacular rural location,(but with easy access, no dirt tracks),heated pool and gardens, you can enjoy a relaxing holiday, take a mountain hike or ride one of our well behaved horses in our peaceful corner of Andalucia. The Farm has been beautifully restored,retaining all the charm,with modern conveniences, offering numerous quiet little areas for relaxing in the shade or the sun plus a large pool patio with enough sunbeds for everyone. The pool is shared with other guests but as most people like to spend at least some of their holiday sightseeing, you will often find you have the pool to yourself. There’s a small children's play area and friendly pets, it is an animal lover's paradise. Care is taken to ensure that everywhere is clean and beautifully presented, with flowers in pots and pretty cushions. We live on site to ensure that if there's a problem it will be sorted immediately (though we remain discreetly in the background and will not bother you during your holiday unless needed). The pool is heated from approx. April until October. A paradise for walkers and nature lovers, we believe we have some of the best views and walking trails in Spain. If you would like a night off from cooking the village has numerous restaurants to choose from.

Summary: Pros: Having loved our previous stay at Cortijo Los Lobos we were excited to be returning. We were not disappointed! This visit was every bit as special as before. There were four of us: on experienced rider, one novice and two non-riders and we were all equally positive about our experience. The riding itself is memorable. Our first ride, led by the excellent Chloe and her family took us around mountain tracks with stunning views. The fact that I wanted to be led never felt an inconvenience and the horses,Twiggy and Bonnie, were perfect. A second ride, on the same horses, was led by June with Hanna an excellent helper. This was a completely different route but equally spectacular. The horses are incredibly well cared for and June’s love and concern for them shines through and has clearly been transmitted to the people who work for her. She judges what is suitable for each rider perfectly. Indeed the various other animals in the Cortijo are loved and friendly, bringing a real home-from-home feeling. We stayed in El Establo which is a delight. It has a private courtyard and balcony for catching the sun and the cottage itself is homely, although you don’t tend to spend much time indoors. The pool is wonderful and the grounds themselves a delight. It is well located, feeling quite remote but having bars and restaurants as well as shops within ten minutes drive. We catered for ourselves but June will also cook if asked. Overall June and Clive could not have made us more welcome. We will be going back for a third instalment in due course!
