The Gardeners Cottage was, as the name implies, especially built for the gardener residing on this beautiful rural estate. We think you will enjoy the romance of the cottage and its beautiful setting and hopefully go home with a fresh new take on life too!
Things to know:
* We only provide 1 set of keys for each stay. We do not have extra sets.
We are a company that does a lot of travelling so our best means of contact would be either through the app or please email us and my Team will respond as soon as possible! The owner lives in the homestead on the property and is also available via the phone.
Wildes Meadows is located in the heart of the Southern Highlands. There is plenty to see and do!
Burrawang Village is located 5.9 kms away and is approximately a 5 minute drive. The best features of Burrawang Village are:
- Has a fabulous pub, Burrawang Village Hotel for lunch and dinner.
- There are movies in the Village School of Arts one night a month (we can provide details of when these are, if you are interested).
- Lovely Cafe Burrawang General Store Cafe for brekkie, brunch, lunch and some dinners.
Robertson Village is located 15kms away and is approximately a 15 minute drive. The best features of Robertson Village are:
- Great local Greengrocer Robertson Fruit Shop also with deli items and terrific golzames and stocks locally made.
- Pizzas In The Mist do wood fired pizzas, they are fantastic!!!!! They are available for eat in or takeaway. We would highly recommend is the Peking Duck pizza!!!
- Lucindas Pantry is a local caterer who makes sensational pies and all sorts of yummy sweet treats, her jams and pickles are superb, also good for a coffee and brekkie.
- Moonacres Cafe is great for local produce as well. Also has a cookery school in the village & the best bread!
- Pecora Dairy is a local fabulous artisan sheep milk cheese shop & a Wine Bar.
- All the usual suspects available here such as a supermarket, bakery, newsagent, etc.
On your way home, drive via Belmore Falls. On a hot day you can swim in the pools here.
Fitzroy Falls is located 5kms away and is approximately a 5 minute drive. The best features of Fitzroy Falls are:
- Located just down the road and there are fabulous bushwalks and of course, Fitzroy Falls itself!
- A well equipped visitors centre to give directions for the walks
- Grandpa’s Shed, the perfect shop for the blokes to fossick amongst the junk, lots of little treasures have been found here.
Moss Vale is located 18kms away and is approximately a 17 minute drive. The best features of Moss Vale are:
- Everything you need can be found here. There is a train station here too (2 hours to Sydney, however, we recommend using your car. It's much easier)!
- Fantastic little design stores down the southern end of Argyle Street.
- Suzie Anderson Home is a treat for any "house proud" shopper.
- "The Merchant" next door is a fun cafe.
- Bernies Diner is fun casual take on a US diner and offers great hamburgers and American breakfasts. Think Happy Days!
Distances Of Other Attractions:
- Kangaroo Valley is 24kms and approximately 25 minutes away. A very pretty drive to a lovely village.
- Berry is 44kms and approximately 48 minutes away. Perfect for a carry on after the Kangaroo Valley. It's great to visit for lunch and wander the shops.
- Kiama on the coast is 50kms and approximately 50 minutes away. Perfect for a swim and fish and chips on the beach. We recommend visiting: The Blowhole, walking the Illawarra Fly Enroute.
- Bowral is 22kms and approximately 22 minutes away.
- Canberra about a 90 minute to 2 hour drive 178 kms in total.
- Sydney Airport is about a 90 minute drive 127 kms in total.
You will have the entire cottage to yourself which is totally private & away from the homestead, enjoy!
The Gardeners Cottage is privately situated at the end of a country lane, just 5 km from Burrawang village. Follow the signs along a hedge-lined driveway to find the cottage nestled behind with stunning views from the sunny front porch through the paddocks to the escarpment. Wander around the property at dusk for magnificent sunset views, or venture to nearby Fitzroy Falls for many bush walks.
The cottage is exceptionally well presented, is thermally efficient and has lots of character.
It is well insulated with polished concrete floors that are cool in summer and retain heat in winter. Tank water, an environmental waste system, and low energy appliances all contribute to this property's green credentials.
The decor is fun and stylish, including some handmade features such as light shades made from fencing wire from the property. Use of natural products and recycled wood also enhance the ambiance.
Instead of electric blankets, internet and a dishwasher you will find cosy hot water bottles, a wood heater, a Nespresso pod coffee machine, TV with DVD, tranquil spots to sit and walk on the property, a hammock to relax under the trees and free ranging chickens who will oblige with fresh eggs when available.
The Gardener’s Cottage is an adult’s only property, we cannot accept bookings with babies or children. We also do not accept pets.
This is a working farm, with cattle in surrounding paddocks and unfenced water hazards. The cottage also has an exposed steel firebox in the living area which poses a significant danger to babies and children, which is why the cottage is strictly for adults only.

We recommend using your own car or hiring one whilst you stay at our property. As this is a rural setting, most things are close by, only if you have a car!
