El Granero is one of four properties at Molino la Ratonera which is a holiday retreat set in a watermill in a lush river valley. The location of this mill, in the heart of rural inland Andalucia, southern Spain, is within easy reach of Granada with the Alhambra and Albaicin, Malaga, Seville and Cordoba and yet its rural situation provides a haven for wildlife and an excellent environment for walking, birdwatching or relaxing.
We offer a choice of rental properties for short breaks or longer holidays of any duration on a self-catering basis.
El Granero has two bedrooms and a fully equipped bathroom with bath, shower and bidet. The spacious sitting room/dining area and kitchen are open plan and lead on to a large covered terrace overlooking the waterfall. The apartment is equipped for up to four guests with one double and one twin bedroom. The terrace is a beautiful place to sit and watch the varied wildlife in the river and woods.Its position, built into the rock and close to the river ensures that this house stays refreshingly cool in the hot summer months.
Returning to the Mill for 2017 after a very successful season last year will be your hosts, Marc and Linda. They will be there to greet you upon arrival and will be available throughout your stay. If you need information regarding the mill or just finding your way around they will be more than happy to help. Marc and Linda will also be running the BBQ in the evening as well as the bar and entertainment. The BBQ will be casual with seating in the open courtyard. For the adults there will be local specialties such as Iberian pork which is delicious done on the BBQ and for the kids there will always be plenty of burgers and chicken. You can let them know what you like and they will do their best to accommodate you. When the mill is busy they like to put on entertainment in the courtyard. Marc does a fun and upbeat rockabilly and rock & roll show, performing live and playing guitar while you sit back and relax under the stars on the mill terrace.

Summary: We had a lovely stay. The place is very quiet and with beautiful wildlife. The mill has an interesting history which the wonderful hosts Marc and Linda gave us an introduction to. The last 2 km to the place is a dirt track - but it is not a problem. Good idea to go grocery shopping before you get there though!
