Casa das Orquídeas was born from the reconstruction and expansion of two houses built at the beginning of the 20th century located in the middle of the slope, between the sea and the mountain. Where, with the same travel time, you can reach a beach with magnificent yellow sand as you arrive at a unique and green landscape cut by several paths of sparkling water.
The refurbishment allows guests to live in a house that is over 100 years old, but with all the comforts and comforts of today, including the full air conditioning of the house, the Wi-Fi system, the TV through Meo ADSL and all quality appliances available.
In December 2014 the house was classified by the Regional Secretariat for Culture, Tourism and Transport of the Autonomous Region of Madeira as a Country House for rural tourism.
With an area of 239 m2, the house is divided into two distinct areas: the housing area and the leisure and support area. On the first floor, we have a dining room, a kitchen, a living room and a common toilet on the ground floor and on the first floor we have 3 bedrooms all with private bathrooms.
In the leisure area there is a covered steakhouse and a porch with a typical oil press. In front, the 4m by 8m pool, surrounded on two sides by a deck area, under sun exposure throughout the day, together form a pleasant space for resting but also for socializing.
In this area we also have support for the house with the existence of a laundry room with WC and an office to receive guests.
As the house has a considerable exterior space, it was intended to make it more pleasant and with a strong and representative character of the place and its inhabitants, cultures and traditions.
The various garden areas are then a recreation of the gardens of the past, both in the planted species and in the structure, of which the aromatic herb garden is an example.
To the north of the house, a vineyard area was recreated and to the south some fruit trees were maintained and planted and a small vegetable and vegetable garden was created in order to maintain examples of cultivation that once existed on the land.
