Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Really enjoyed the views, and the walks very close by as well as the short drive to Ambleside. The home was lovely, and the log fire was great as used this every day afternoon and nighttime. Lovely refurbished bedroom, however the bed was a bit small length ways , not great when you are tall. Chesters cafe is a lovely place to visit , it is vegan, which was nice for a change. Also seen a deer and fox in the ground ,so be aware if you take dog.
Negative: As it was really cold and there is no water supply from the water board, the water is from natural rainfall stored in a tank, so the pipes did freeze, which left us with 1 working toliet, and no water in the kitchen taps or bathrooms, so we had to call to get a water supply delivered to see us through. Luckily this only lasted for a couple of days as the weather started to get a little warmer. If it hadn't we would have had to move. Also the personalised family pictures in the master bedroom was off putting, I didn't want to feel like I was in their home, rather than a holiday let. As well as the pictures in rhe kitchen.
