About your host
Hello, I am Joanne. English born and able to speak a little bit of Italian. I work remotely as a Holistic Counsellor and spend half of my time in Italy; the rest of the time, wherever life decides to take me. You will have the place to yourself unless stated otherwise but I will be available via phone if needed and with someone not far to help if you have any queries.
I look forward to sharing my beautiful home and area with you and hope you love it as much as I do.
I will be hoping to offer retreats come September so please contact me with any questions you may have.
Inside the home
This beautiful property (sleeps 6 persons) it is gated, with free parking and enough room for 4 cars. There is plenty of outdoor space surrounding the property, to relax and soak up the breath-taking views of the sunrise and sunset over the Gran Sasso, which is the highest mountain in the Apennies. You can visit all the villages at the foot of the mountain. Castilenti is famous for its ceramics. Teramo is the largest city nearby, which has a beautiful historic centre from the Roman era. The views from this property are an added bonus!
The Adriatic Sea is beautiful and has lots of beaches and towns to visit, Guilianova, Roseto degli Abruzzo, Tortoreto, Alba Adriatica and Martinsicuro are all very beautiful and lively seaside resorts.
Pescara also has its own lively vibe and seaside resort, with lovely beach bars and restaurants.
You will be living in the spacious downstairs of the house, which has a private entrance and is situated over the one level, although, if the property owner is not in residence, you will also have access to the terrace upstairs.
The property has been newly decorated, and it is furnished and equipped to a high standard which will ensure your stay is a comfortable home-from-home experience. The décor is traditional Italian with modern conveniences and would be a perfect base for those wanting to travel the surrounding countryside and villages – or for those skiers who wish to stay a short drive away.
Ceiling fans have been installed, in each room, to keep the rooms cool in the summer months, the house is quite cool anyway and does not need aircom.
All windows have fly screens on them so you can have some beautiful air flow without the stress of unwanted visitors like bugs flying in!
Additionally, every window has a shutter system to ensure a restful sleep.
Bedroom 1 (a family room) has two double beds and can sleep up to 4 people.
Bedroom 2: has one double bed.
All bed linen and towels are provided.
There are 2 bathrooms 1 with shower and 1 with a bath.
There is a brand-new kitchen fitted with all appliances to make all your own meals, including a exquisite wood-burning range.
The separate living room is equipped with a TV and Firestick to ensure you do not miss your favourite TV programmes! Also Netflix is provided to watch your favourites movies.
Wi-fi is also available at the property for the duration of your stay.
Electricity/bills are included in your rental.
Please note-There are no house keeping service during your stay at this property.
About the space
This beautiful home is located a short seven-minute walk into the quaint, local village of Castilenti. The home is peaceful and quiet, it is surrounded by nature with stunning views of the mountains and olive trees.
There is a terrace outside the property, furnished with table and chairs, a barbecue and a swing seat.
The terrace on the top floor also has a table and chairs and sun loungers for your use (when the owner is not in residence).
Fall asleep to the soothing sweet chirp of the crickets and the soft wind through the trees and wake to the beautiful singing of the birds.
Whether Italy is your motherland or somewhere else far away, here you will feel at home. As the Italians say “Tranquilla” meaning calm, you will soon fall into this way of being whilst you’re here, for 3 days, 2 weeks, or 2 months.
After a day of exploring or even relaxing in the grounds maybe in your own self-made retreat, you will be happy you chose to stay in Casa Dolce Casa.

Occasionally the electricity will trip out if too many appliances are on at the same time, but do not worry as there is a simple switch for this outside the front gate on the side wall, the first small unit box you open and switch the power switch up.
I will have a number also available for you to call a management team in case of any emergencies if I'm not there at the property.
