The Old Stables is delightful 5 bed country house set in the south Cheshire countryside. The house is set within the grounds of Hatherton Lodge, a grade II listed manor house set in 100 acres of private parkland setting. Believed to have been built in the late 18th century. The property was the seat of John Twemlow, who testified in the celebrated Mary Malpas murder case, and was the seat of the Barony which became extinct in 1918.
The house is a tastefully modern and an impeccable country retreat which makes it an attractive, light and comfortable holiday home. The property has striking doorways, a contemporary entrance hall featuring a grand oak staircase, a luxurious very large lounge, dining room for up to 10 people and a well fitted kitchen with breakfast area.
The property has a further 4 reception rooms/seating areas including a snug and a games/media room. Outside there is the original cobbled courtyard, which provides a patio area with seating for up to 10, perfect to enjoy a BBQ in the summer or relax with friends and family. There is also a chiminea to keep warm, if it gets a bit chilly.
A separate attractive enclosed lawned garden can be found to the rear of the property, perfect to relax in knowing that it is fully secure and safe for children. Upstairs the property provided 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The large master suite includes a bedroom with king size bed, with exposed beams, Juliet balcony, seating area for x2, TV, walk-in wardrobe and large en-suite with bath, large shower & x2 sinks. Bedroom 2 has a king sized bed. Across the landing is a tasteful family bathroom. Opposite is bedroom 3 which has twin beds, bedroom 4 also has twin beds. Bedroom 5, at the end of the landing, is a further master with a king size bed, TV with en-suite with large shower.
The property has parking for more than 6 cars and further space if necessary for more. Secure storage for bikes is available upon request. Unlimited Wifi internet available. The property boasts peaceful views of the south Cheshire countryside rural yet not isolated and within easy reach of a number of gastro pubs.
