The Space:
This authentic Mexican-style studio apartment, Casita Paraiso with a private 60 sq ft patio will be a nice welcome to the Mayan culture! You'll be just a block from the malecón promenade and the beach!
To get to the Casita you must go up a flight of stairs, cross over the rooftop area (3rd floor), go down a flight of stairs and walk past the pool to the studio. Please keep this in mind as it may not suitable for guests with low mobility or physical impediments.
The main spaces of the Casita Paraiso:
- Your little patio area is what you see first with a cozy tiled ceramic table to enjoy your coffee in the morning with a view of the pool and garden courtyard.
- As you come into the casita (“little house”) you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen with all you’ll need to prepare or reheat meals. Great if traveling on a budget. There’s a new refrigerator, a coffee maker, kettle, portable stove, and toaster oven.
- The bedroom is delightfully cheerful with a double bed, ceiling fan and AC for comfort, a dresser & SmartTV w/Netflix. Plus a great bar-like table at the window to enjoy a meal or use as a workspace.
- The bathroom is spacious with a sink, toilet, shower, and bidet.
- The apartment has a safe box for your valuables.
- High-speed Internet throughout the property.
The shared spaces at the complex*:
- A large rooftop with a giant palapa shaded area & plenty of seating to enjoy the breeze and sea view! Have a sunset cocktail or enjoy a meal.
- A beautiful garden courtyard pool!* Surrounded by mature palm trees and a cement palapa shaded area with seats for enjoying some time out of the sun or a beverage.
*Only registered guests are allowed in the shared areas of the complex
When ready to venture out, the complex is just a block from the east end of Progreso’s famous waterfront malecón that runs from Calle 60 (the street you’re on!) to Calle 80. It’s a 1.1km/0.7 mi walk one way and loaded with things to see and do. You’ll find a large selection of restaurants, many of them seafood, and of course, you can dine with a beach view! If you want a longer walk, the Progreso Pier, at the west end of the malecón, is an incredible 6.5 km | 4 mi long! It's the world's longest pier! And of course go enjoy the beach, the beautiful ocean views, and warm shallow water — you'll only be a block away, you can go every day!
There are many day trip options too, you can go see pink flamingos at the salt flats in Celestún or take an excursion to visit one of the many Mayan Ruins. Chichén Itzá is one of the most famous as it’s one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World! A 5-minute cab ride will take you to an outdoor dinosaur park open at night with giant life-sized dinosaurs. And a 6-minute cab ride will take you to the Raccoon Sanctuary at Reserva Ecologica El Corchito.
Guest Access:
To get to the Casita you must go up two flights of stairs, cross over the rooftop area (3rd floor), go down two flights of stairs and walk past the pool to the studio. Please keep this in mind as it may not suitable for guests with low mobility or physical impediments or with a lot of luggage.
A a registered guest, will have access to the shared areas like the courtyard pool and seating area downstairs and the large palapa rooftop terrace.

The casita is just a block from the beach and Progreso’s famous Malecón!
- Walk the malecón promenade. It’s a 1.1km/0.68 mi waterfront walk one way with lots to see and do & a large selection of restaurants. Try a "marquesita" (a crunchy crepe-like roll filled with sweet or savory fillings) from a street vendor or dine with a beach view!
- Walk the Progreso Pier, an incredible 6.5 km|4 mi long; the world's longest pier!
- Relax & enjoy the beach & warm shallow ocean water
- Kayak or stand-up paddleboard through the mangroves
- Visit Reserva Ecológica El Corchito & the 3 crystal clear cenotes (freshwater sinkholes unique to this area)
- Day trip to see pink flamingos at the salt flats in Celestún or an excursion to Chichén Itzá, one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World!

Getting Around:
Guests can find free parking on the street in front of the complex. The Merida International Airport (MID) is the closest airport. It’s about 50 km or 31 miles (a 40-min drive) away. If you happen to be flying into Cancun International Airport (CUN), it’s about a 4-hour drive to Progreso. There are shared-ride, private vans, and rental car options. If you need assistance, we’d be happy to help! Here are some approximate estimations of the most visited attractions in & around the area:

3. Laguna Rosada - really cool pink-tinged salt ponds with flamingoes & archaeological ruins
4. Explore one of the neighboring beach towns of Chelem and Chuburná and enjoy the beach there!
5. Go to Mérida, the capital of the Yucatan, which offers many exciting tours and great shopping
6. Go see Valladolid, a 16th-century colonial town or the magical yellow town of Uxmal!
7. See wild pink flamingos at the salt flats in Celestún (Reserva de la Biosfera Ria Celestún)

Other Things to Note:
High-speed Wi-Fi, SmartTV with Netflix, bed linens, and bath towels are provided free for guests. And we provide a roll of toilet paper but no other bath items. So please pack and bring what you need like shampoo, soap, and other toiletries.
Please get in touch with the local contact at least 24 hours in advance of your arrival to coordinate a meet-up time for check-in. There are NO CHECK-INS after 7 pm, unless you get advance approval to do. Please consider this when making your travel arrangements.
Electricity: For stays of 21 nights or more there is a charge of $10 USD per week.
Cleaning: There is no daily housekeeping service but should you require cleaning during your stay, one can be arranged at an additional charge of $25 USD. Please also note: for stays of 30 nights or more, there's a mandatory mid-stay cleaning fee of $25 USD.
Pool hours: 9 AM to 9 PM. There’s no lifeguard at the pool & children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
Visitors are allowed inside your apartment as long as they don't stay overnight (max 4 visitors in the apartment until 10 pm) And visitors are NOT allowed in the shared areas — the courtyard pool & rooftop terrace. These areas are for registered guests only.
Pets are strictly prohibited on this property.
Guests will be requested to sign a Rental Agreement upon booking confirmation.
A security deposit may be required prior to arrival or at check-in subject to the booking platform used to make the reservation. This fee is charged as a credit card transaction and refunded after check-out, provided all terms are met.
There are surveillance cameras at the property for security reasons and to ensure guest safety. All cameras face outdoor areas only.
HOUSE RULES
- Travelers must be at least 21 years of age or older to book.
- No smoking of any kind is allowed on the premises except in the dedicated smoking areas: outdoor private area of each unit and garden/pool area. Please NOT on the rooftop near the palapa for fire prevention. Smoking cannabis or use of any recreational drugs on the premise is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply will incur a $300 penalty.
- No parties or events are permitted, illegal activity is prohibited, and excessive noise won't be tolerated. No loud music is allowed after 10 pm. Please be respectful of the neighbors.
- No more guests than those listed in your reservation are allowed. No tent or other structures may be set up on the ground of the property.
- Renters agree to cover any charge related to damages that occurred during their stay or cover necessary extra-cleaning charges if such is needed after their stay.
- Renters may be required to provide a government ID on the day of checking in or during their stay.
- Please avoid moving furniture.
- Pets are not allowed.
Interaction with Guests:
Please contact us at least 24 hours in advance of your arrival to coordinate the meet-up time for your check-in. (There are no check-ins after 7 pm). When you meet up, the local contact will give you a tour of the property, provide information about the local area, answer any questions you may have, and leave you with the key to the place. ***REMEMBER NO CHECK-INS AFTER 7 PM.***
