The owners have created a cosy Lakeland retreat that offers accommodation ideal for any occasion, whatever the time of year. Arranged all on one level the cottage offers a welcoming lounge/diner, kitchen and two bedrooms that are complemented by a shower room. A short walk from the cottage, at Nichol End, the regular launch that runs a regular service stopping off at various points around the lake which can be combined to offers some fantastic walking along the lakeshore through Manesty and Brandlehow, to reach the popular viewpoints of Ashness Bridge and Surprise View or the more adventurous will head to the high fells that dominate the skyline of the Newlands Valley. Relax in front of the fire at the popular Farmers Arms, serving tasty local produce and traditional Lakeland Ales. Whether you are looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner wander down to Lingholm, where Beatrix Potter holidayed as a child, to discover the acclaimed Lingholm Kitchen and Walled Garden. Accommodation The cottage is tucked away in a quiet corner with its own private garden and patio. The kitchen has everything you need to have that hearty breakfast before planning the day ahead. It comprises of a Rangemaster cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine. The open plan lounge/dining room is a light and bright space, the garden can be accessed through the patio doors. A superking bedroom which is light and bright and the second a single room. Both are serviced by a shower room with wc and vanity unit with basin. Attached to the cottage is an ideal area where there is plenty of space to store bikes etc. an ideal place to keep you’re walking gear or dry off the dog. Outside there is a pretty enclosed lawned garden with patio and furniture that is perfect for al-fresco living, all facing south and ideal for lazy days or pre-dinner drinks. Location The village of Portinscale is a quiet village on the north east shores of Derwentwater, within easy reach of Keswick and with easy access to the lake and a great choice of local walks. The popular local pub the Farmers Arms server's great food and local beer and a short walk through the village leads to the imposing Lingholm Estate where foodies can relax over breakfast, lunch or tea at the award-winning Lingholm Kitchen and Walled Garden. The Chalet tea rooms right across the street is ideal for breakfast and lunch. The nearby market town of Keswick is one of the Lake District's most popular destinations. This friendly town hosts the very popular twice weekly market that has recently won the coveted Best Outdoor Market in the Great British Market Awards.
