In summer 2019 we opened our apartment for 8 people in an old thatched roof cottage. The apartment is located in one half of the house and is on two floors.
The fantastic location on the Geltinger Bay, in the landscape protection area, makes your vacation a special experience.
The thatched roof was renovated and equipped with a mixture of old and new furniture and decorations from the region. So it may be that they are sitting on grandma's old chairs, the old track rails act as picture frame shelves, driftwood and old harbor bollards as lamps illuminate the rooms. Let yourself be surprised which antique objects awaken to new life.
The apartment offers a beautiful view of the Baltic Sea, the Gelting Bay. From here you can look at the Danish coast. Between them and the Baltic Sea is a small paddock, which is regularly visited by deer, herons and sea eagles and a small sailing port. Due to the proximity to the Baltic Sea, approx. 500 m walk, the apartment offers countless leisure opportunities. The Gelting Bay is very popular with sailors, windsurfers and kitesurfers. At Geltingen Bay you have the opportunity to learn about water sports or to live out your hobby. But not only water sports enthusiasts can enjoy the landscape. The apartment is located in close proximity to the Baltic Sea Cycle Route. Bicycle parking spaces with electricity are available.
The location of the apartment offers many different leisure activities in the wider area. You can go on a quiet bike tour to the Geltinger Birk with its wild horses, or you can go to Schleswig to the Vikings and discover the Vikings in them. But it is also not far to Denmark, for those interested in history, to the German-Danish place of war Dübbel (1864).
The apartment is located in one part of the house with a cozy garden, from your terrace you can look out on the Baltic Sea while relaxing or grilling. The apartment is suitable for one or two families, for groups, but also for individuals and couples with a corresponding space requirement.

The apartment has three bedrooms. The first bedroom is a quadruple room with a bunk bed and two single beds. The bunk bed has a sleeping area of 140 x2000 on the lower sleeping level. The bedside tables are made of antique chair parts.
The second bedroom has a double bed and an antique teacher's closet as a dresser.
The third bedroom offers you, in addition to the double bed, an antique Danish children's bed and a changing table for the very small holiday guests.

There are two bathrooms in the apartment. The first bathroom has a free-standing bathtub, a spacious walk-in shower and an antique vanity unit.
The second bathroom is equipped with a shower and offers you a wonderful view of the Gelting Bay.

The kitchen offers enough space to prepare a cozy meal together.
Dining room with fireplace
The apartment offers 8 people in a dining room with a soapstone fireplace. The little ones can grow up here and take part in a meal or game session on a child-friendly chair.
Panoramic room with a fireplace
For a cozy end you can relax in the panorama room with a Morsö stove. You can explore the Schleswig-Holstein school map together or enjoy a beautiful view of the Geltinger Bay in the panoramic seating area.
Garden and terrace
On the south side of the house you will find the first terrace place to enjoy the sun in spring and autumn. For the younger holiday guests you will find a small adventure area on the south side, here the children can experience their senses and live out the joy of exercise. On the north side of the house there is the second terrace place with a view of the Baltic Sea. The terrace offers you enough space to grill with your own grill, eat together, relax in the beach chair or relax on the loungers in the relaxation zone with beach sand.
