On road parking. No smoking.. Boasting charm and comfort, this lovely cottage is reached by an upward sloping path just yards from the harbour, in the pretty fishing village of Gardenstown. Above the owner’s home, this property has been beautifully furnished with great attention to detail, the beds have mattress toppers and supima cotton sheets and the bathroom has an attractive roll-top bath and separate shower cubicle with monsoon rain head. The cottage is a delight with sheltered sitting-out areas both at the front and rear of the property, which are ideal for enjoying a drink or meal in the afternoon sunshine. The two double bedrooms offer fantastic views of the harbour and the sea beyond. The cosy living room with its wood burner is wonderful to relax in after a day out. Gardenstown is set on a hillside leading down to the sea, with a quaint harbour and traditional fisherman’s cottages, which cluster round the base of the cliffs, giving the village shelter from prevailing winds. Fishing is available all year round at the end of Gardenstown pier, free of charge, and boat trips from the harbour for sightseeing and fishing trips can be made by arrangement (at cost) in the the summer months. There is a pub, restaurant and shop, all within walking distance of the cottage. Ideally placed for touring this unspoilt area, there are sandy beaches at Cullen, Nairn and Findhorn further along the coast. Golf is also widely catered for, with several excellent courses a short drive away. With the Whisky and Castle Trails beckoning close by, the area has widespread appeal. The magical north east coast is warmed by the Gulf Stream and with its very temperate climate with well below average rainfall, it is a fabulous destination throughout the year. A mecca for dolphin spotters, this stretch of coastline is one of the best in the UK to view this magnificent mammal.
