The Neuk is a bright, modern cottage situated in a quiet no through lane close to the centre of Fortrose in the heart of the Black Isle. This delightful, semi-detached property has undergone a full renovation in 2019. The main living room is spacious and welcoming with a deep leather suite and attractive soft furnishings. The large kitchen/dining room is extremely well equipped with all modern appliances and there is ample room for dining too. There is a charming kingsize bedroom on the ground floor and upstairs are two more beautifully presented bedrooms, allowing flexible sleeping for up to four guests. The Neuk is set in its own private garden grounds, with easy walking access, mainly set with paving stones, and there is a lovely picnic table and chairs for outside dining or a quiet drink whilst the next day’s excursion is planned. The Neuk is within a short and easy walk of all the amenities of the charming seaboard village in the Royal Burgh of Fortrose. Famous for its historic cathedral and its proximity to Chanonry Point, the main vantage point for watching the renowned bottlenose dolphins that are resident in the Moray Firth, it is ideal for a truly memorable Highland holiday. Fortrose also has a pretty harbour and beach, with a variety of watersports. The nearby village of Avoch offers boat trips to encounter the dolphins and other wildlife close to hand. There are many and varied outdoor activities in the area including golf, mountain biking, fishing, walking and climbing. And for the less energetic, there are wonderful scenic drives all along this coastline with pretty villages dotted in between. Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, is just 20 minutes’ drive away, or there is also a regular bus service from the village. Culloden Battlefield, Fort George and the historic castles of Cawdor and Urquhart, situated on the banks of Loch Ness, are well worth a visit. Beach ¾ mile.
