It is found situated between the wild, heather topped expanses of the Cheviot Hills to the west and the Heritage coastline to the east. Chatton Trout Fishery invites amateur anglers to fish without a rod licence in its well-stocked 4-acre lake, close by. The small friendly town of Wooler (known locally as Glendale; the inspiration for ‘Postman Pat’s Greendale), is only 5 miles inland. This is a popular destination for those who enjoy cycling, golf, horse riding and walking – the challenging route of the ‘St Cuthbert’s Way’ runs close by. Bamburgh is renowned for its majestic fortress and beautiful expanse of golden, sandy beach and is only 10 miles east. The elegant Georgian town of Berwick which straddles the salmon rich River Tweed, and the cobbled, market town of Alnwick, protected by its dramatic castle, both offer a wide array of amenities around half an hour’s drive. Alnwick Garden is a popular visitor attraction to see the Grand Cascade Waterfall and dine in the restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe! Meg’s Cottage is situated adjacent to Jenny’s Cottage (ref: UK3075), which can be booked independently or together to accommodate up to 7 guests. Please note: Meg’s Cottage is suitable for one family, as the only shower room is en-suite to the double bedroom. Up to 2 dogs only accepted no bigger than a labradorl. The shower room is ensuite to the double bedroom and there is no door from the kitchen to the bedroom although there is a recessed area. Garden is shared with neighbouring holiday property.
