The villa is located in the Karst region which is a unique world in itself full of underground caves, disappearing rivers, dolines and other such magical things typical of karst natural phenomenon. These caves are truly incredible and walking into them can be a lifetime experience. Some of the most notable caves are Škocjan Caves (a UNESCO World Heritage site and the biggest underground canyon in the world), Divača caves, Dimnice cave and Vilenica cave. Other important attractions include visiting the many museums and galleries here that offer a deeper insight into the ancient as well as contemporary art, culture and tradition of the region. The Lipica Stud Farm is another great place to be, especially if horses interest you. It is the world's largest stud farm that breeds Lipizzan horses and what a sight it is to watch these thoroughbreds!
The old town of Štanjel often finds its place in tourist's itinerary. It is a picturesque medieval village where one can witness the creativity of humankind on stones. There is a castle, a Ferrari garden and the village as a whole which have astounded people with its unique beauty.
