This light, cosy cottage is attached to the Commodore Guest House, close to Rothesay town centre with garden views. The guest house fronts onto the Rothesay Promenade where you can sit and enjoy the most fabulous views over Rothesay Bay, towards the Cowal Peninsula and the Ayrshire coast. Holistic therapy treatments are available in the guest house from the owners, making this an ideal relation retreat. There’s easy access to Rothesay town centre and all the shops, bars, bistros and cafés and it’s the perfect base for couples, singles or friends to explore and enjoy the beautiful Isle of Bute. The compact open plan living/kitchen/dining space enjoys views over the garden and courtyard. The spacious bedroom also has garden views and boasts a super kingsize bed which can be separated into twins if required. The lovely garden is shared with the other cottage and owners of the guest house, but there is a small sitting out area in the courtyard where you can take in the view over the garden. Rothesay is Bute ’s main town, and there is an excellent tourist office in the Discovery Centre, which also houses an exhibition about the Isle of Bute. Rothesay is the perfect base for exploring the Isle of Bute and it is also the main ferry port and transport hub. Bute is only 33 miles from Glasgow and is one of the most accessible of the westerly islands from the Scottish Central Belt. 15 miles long and 5 miles across at its widest point, the island is home to many interesting historical and architectural sites including Rothesay Castle, Rothesay Victorian Toilets and Mount Stuart House, and beautiful gardens such as Ardencraig Gardens and Ascog Fernery. There are walks for all abilities with the West Island Way being an ideal way to explore the island on foot.
