A gate leads from the garden directly onto Fortrose golf course, which is highly regarded by golfers and open to visitors. Just a few yards from the property is Chanonry Point, famous as the best vantage point on the Black Isle to spot the wonderful bottle nose dolphins that are resident in the Moray Firth. Fortrose also has a pretty harbour and beach, with a variety of watersports on offer. The villages dotted along this pretty coastline provide plenty of scenic drives, with lots of historic and cultural interest. There are numerous outdoor activities in the area. As well as golf there is mountain biking, hill walking, fishing, climbing, sailing and kayaking, to name but a few. Inverness, the capital city of the Highlands is just 20 minutes’ drive away, or there is also a regular bus service from the village.
