For larger groups the Apartment La Terrazza sul Porto 1 can be rented together with the Apartment La Terrazza sul Porto 2 (the two apartments have a common entrance) for a total of 6 people.
La Terrazza sul Porto 1 is situated in Marina Piccola, where the Sorrento harbour is found. Here, you’ll find ferries and hydrofoils running to all the other popular destinations in the Gulf of Naples, such as Naples, Capri, Positano, Amalfi or Ischia. Even before construction of the harbour began in 1912, this was already the preferred place to dock because of its proximity to the town centre.
Less than 30 metres from the apartment, you’ll find the seaside resorts of Sorrento. Since the sandy strip of beach is very small, a variety of establishments stretch along the seafront on stilts, giving them their unique appearance. The coast’s north-facing exposure and cool waters make the summer heat much more bearable.
On this side of Marina Piccola, a ramp, carved out of the tuff rock, leads up to the viewpoint at Villa Communale. This is one of the few sections of the Sorrento coast that can be freely visited and boasts a gorgeous view of the Gulf of Naples. These gardens originally formed part of the Convent of Saint Francis and is where the monks kept their orchards and vegetable gardens.
On the ground floor of the building where La Terrazza sul Porto 1 is located, you’ll find some great bars and restaurants.
The centre of Sorrento and Piazza Tasso, where you’ll find shops, bars and restaurants, is just a 10-minute walk from the apartment. There is also a local bus stop close to the apartment which can get you to Piazza Tasso in less than two minutes. The public lift which connects the centre of Sorrento to the wonderful harbour at Marina Piccola is just a few metres away.
The train and bus stations are about 1 km from the apartment, with services running to Pompeii, Naples, Positano, Amalfi and Ravello.
The closest airport is Naples Capodichino, which is about 40 minutes away by car.
La Terrazza sul Porto 1 is the ideal place if you’re looking for the perfect combination of fun and relaxation.
You won’t need a car in order to stay at La Terrazza sul Porto 1, but if you do travel by car, there are both free and paid public car parks nearby. However, please bear in mind that these get busy during the summer. We recommend reserving a parking space in advance if possible.
La Terrazza sul Porto 1 is situated on the first floor of a fascinating 19th-century red-brick building. The building has been recently renovated and features a lift.
From the entrance, you can get to the apartment by taking either the lift or the stairs. The main entrance is shared with the Apartment La Terrazza sul Porto 2.
THE TERRACE is around 10 square meters in size and is furnished with a dining table for four people and two sun loungers. From here, you’ll have a gorgeous view of Vesuvius, the sea and the harbour front. This terrace is accessed from the living room.
THE BALCONY is small and typical of the local 19th-century apartment buildings. It contains two chairs and boasts a gorgeous view of Vesuvius, the sea and the harbour front. The balcony is accessed from the living room.
THE LIVING ROOM is large and bright with large windows providing views of the sea. It has been decorated and furnished in a Mediterranean-seafaring style with all the shades of the blue sea. It contains a king-size bed, two single sofa-beds, a dining table for four people, a safe and two televisions. Here, you’ll also find a small kitchen corner with a two-hob electric stove, a small fridge, a moka pot and an electric kettle – ideal for preparing breakfast or a quick snack. The room is also fitted with air conditioning and heating. From here, you’ll have access to the terrace and a sea-view balcony via a French window.
THE BATHROOM contains a sink, bidet, toilet, hairdryer and a large shower cubicle. It is accessed from the living room.
Important things to know:
- Tourist tax 3,00 Euros per day per person for the first 7 nights from April to October 31. The children under 18 years do not pay.
- For arrivals after 8:00 PM will be applied an extra cost of 50.00 Euros to be paid at the arrival.
- Damage deposit: 200,00 Euros. The damage deposit will be returned prior to your departure unless there are accidental damages to the property.
