Fota Island is located in the natural harbour of Cork, on the south coast of Ireland. The Fota Island Resort with its huge golf course, the Wildlife Park and the historic Fota House and Garden extends over the entire island. Take advantage of the resort's many activities (for a fee), such as the indoor pool or the fully equipped gym. Fota Island is also home to Ireland's only Wildlife Park, home to more than 70 exotic species. A trip to Cork, Ireland's second largest city, is also a must. The city centre, situated on an island in the River Lee, invites you to take an extensive stroll through the city. The city is also known for its regular cultural events, such as the Cork Film Festival. Since 1978, the Cork Jazz Festival has been held annually at the end of October.
